Presentatie Engels

Omdat ik staatsexamen heb gedaan moest ik voor elk vak ook een mondeling examen doen. Voor Engels moest ik een presentatie voorbereiden. Deze moest ik tijdens het mondeling houden. Ik ben erg trots op deze presentatie en wil hem daarom met jullie delen. Helaas kwam ik niet aan alles toe tijdens het examen, maar het meeste heb ik toch wel kunnen vertellen.

De presentatie is uiteraard in het Engels. ;)

I would like to tell you something about musicals. I have liked musicals since I was 15 years old. I went to Mamma mia with my family and after that I went to a lot more musicals. I like musicals so much because of the songs and because of the way how the actors tell a story. They can make you laugh and after a while they can make you cry.

I have visited a lot of musicals in the last five years. A highlight was the musical We will rock you in London. We went to London with school and we visited the musical on the final day. It was a special moment for me because London is one of the most famous musical scenes in the world. It was nice to be at west end and to walk along all the theatres.

I liked the atmosphere in the littl theatre during the musical We will rock you. I felt the music everywhere around me. It was nice to see that I knew a lot Queen songs. Before the musical I didn't realise that these songs were all from Queen.

I wish that I could visit West end again. There are so many mucicals I like and they are cheaper than musicals in the Netherlands.

Another famous musical scene is Broadway in New York. It is the same as West end, but there are more theatres there. I wish that I could go to New York someday and discover some shows and Theatres by my self.

I have visited a lot of musicals in The Netherlands too. One of them was Les Miserables. It has been playing at west end for more then 25 years now. It is the longest playing show in London. I love the songs of that show. Another special thing was that I was allowed to feel the stage and the props. In general you can ask the manager of the play if it is possible to discover the stage at the begin of the play, this because I am visually impared. To feel the stage, clothes and those kind of things gives the play a lot more value to me. I can understand the story much better because I can draw a picture of the scenes and costumes in my mind. because of this the person who comes with me doesn't have to explain a lot because I know most of the things because I have seen them before.

My favourite musical actress is Simone Kleinsma. She has played in a lot of musicals. I have seen her five times on stage. The first time was during a play. It was a pitty that she didn't sing during this play because I love her voice so much. The second time was a play too, but there were a few songs in it. The third time was her first one-woman-show. That was amazing. She and her dancers were the only ones on stage and she entertained the whole theatre. The next time I saw her was in the musical Sunset Boulevard. That was great too. Her voice could get across so many emotions. For example from happy to sad. The last time that I saw her on stage was during her second one-woman-show. This one was amazing as well. Maybe it was a little bit better than the first one.

I have met Simone three times. Two times before the show when I was allowed to discover the stage and one time after the show. She signed my cd and talked to me. It was amazing that she recognized me. She asked me what I thought about the show.

I also like to watch talent shows in which they search for new musicaltalent. I like this because of all the musical songs they are performing during the show. It is nice to hear new young talent and to see these persons after a while in the theatre.

Musicals are also an inspiration. My passion is singing and I like to sing musical songs. It is nice to feel the emotions and to entertain people with your voice.

I have studied songs of Cats, Mary Poppins and Elisabeth during my singinglessons. It iss nice to learn how you can tell a story with your voice. I improve my singing skills during these singinglessons. It helps me a lot. My voice is much better now. One of my biggest wishes is to perform musicalsongs on stage and to entertain a great audience.
